Personal summary 

Sami Mordecai Elderazi was born on the island nation of Bahrain. He lived in England as a young boy, and moved to the United States in his teens to attend high school and college. Currently, Sami lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. As a multidisciplinary artist, his practice explores watercolor, printmaking, ceramics, fiber arts, embroidery and quilting. He mines a range of themes in his practice, including social identity, sexuality and considerations of the body.

Work experience 

Elderazi has worked at the Robert Blackburn print shop, where he made several print editions, mostly in intaglio. He has recently edited prints at the Shoestring Press in Brooklyn NY. Elderazi has also created editioned prints for other artists as a printmaker in silkscreen, woodblock, and intaglio. He works in quilt-making and embroidery, making small to medium size quilts - some in collaboration with other artists. The artist is also a self-taught tailor who makes all of his own clothing. Recently, he has been working in watercolors and ink on paper, as well as woodblock printing and fiber arts.
